I appreciate this is a Windows problem really rather than a Shield one but I'm really frustrated that I can no longer get files onto my device.X-plore File Manager 4.30.18 APK is an android 4.30.18 witch created by My other Windows PC can't even seem to pick it up at all, even on the same network. The Shield can at least see it - if I change the network path it no longer finds the share. Then I used the credentials in File X-Plore: it's still saying it can't access the share using those credentials. So I set up another user on my PC, made them an admin and gave them full control over the shared folder. But file X-Plore kept demanding a username and password. Having shared the folder in Windows I've enabled anonymous authentication, made sure that the 'Everyone' and 'Guest' accounts have full access, and rebooted. Following one suggestion I installed File X-Plore on the shield and then set up a folder on my PC as a network share. In the meantime, I've been trying other ways to get files onto the device. I've requested the latest hotfix but it's not available yet, even though the request was more than two days ago. I'm still unable to access my Shield via the local network since the update.
